En 2020, dans le temps suspendu de la pandémie mondiale, l’artiste entre dans une phase de concertation picturale. Le ralentissement imposé par le monde devient un appel intérieur à reconsidérer sa peinture. Il ne s’agit plus seulement de peindre, mais d’interroger la structure de ce qui apparaît, la manière dont les choses adviennent. Prenant appui sur la figure chrétienne de Saint Martin, non comme un motif narratif, mais comme une matrice symbolique (le geste du manteau partagé ouvre une pensée du seuil) et sur la spiritualité taoïste - en particulier le rapport au vide médian tel que pointé par l’écrivain-essayiste-poète François Cheng - un principe diagonal (partage ou signe graphique) s’impose sans devenir décoratif : il agit comme principe organisateur, un lieu de vision ternaire (et non binaire) du monde, une frontière active entre deux états, un ressac qui révèle, ce qui relie, ce qui circule.

Les peintures deviennent champs de forces plutôt qu’images.Elles mettent en tension zones, rythmes, couleurs, densités, sans jamais les figer dans une opposition. Chaque œuvre pose la question de la réalité des choses : comment elles dialoguent, comment elles respirent. L’œuvre devient un espace de méditation active, où le regard est invité à habiter la frontière plutôt qu’à la franchir.

-/- rassemble une somme conséquente de peintures sur toile et sur papier, organisées en ensembles, comme autant de variations autour d’une même question, sans constituer de réponse, mais un approfondissement, un déplacement progressif du regard et une relecture du geste.
